As authentic Christians, we should desire to be followers of Jesus. To do anything else would be hypocritical. During His life on earth, recorded in the New Testament, he makes the clear call to all who follow Him to go and make disciples. These commands are like bookends to His ministry.

His opening words to the first disciples are recorded in Mathew 4:19 as "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

He ended His teaching with the words, as recorded in Matthew 28:19;

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you".

Meeting with other Christians and explorers of faith you may learn to see your everyday work as having spiritual value and even to approach it as ministry. Make disciples - sharing your faith and helping others.

Making disciples is a task that encompasses the first introduction of a person to the idea of God and the person of Jesus, through their step of faith, and onwards throughout their journey as they come to know God in a closer relationship. It is built on deep caring relationships and a passion and a heart for people.
